You can choose to have your device collected in Lewisham, Deptford, or Canary Wharf, or meet us at Lewisham DLR/Train Station for a drop-off.
We securely erase all data from each device using industry‑standard software that meets data‑destruction standards. Every computer is processed through this software to ensure no recoverable information remains. Once complete, we provide a free data‑erasure certificate for your records, giving you clear documentation that the device has been sanitised to a professional standard. Any drives that do not work or are unreadable are destroyed.
All donated computers are sorted into two groups to make the most impact. Computers suitable for donation go directly to individuals and families who need reliable access to technology. Devices that are still valuable but not ideal for donation are placed into our sales stream, where they are sold to help fund the project’s running costs. These sales also cover the cost of repairing broken or incomplete machines, allowing us to restore more devices that will eventually be given away or sold at low cost to support the community.
Some donated computers won’t be repairable or suitable for reuse. These devices are carefully stripped for working parts, which we use to repair other machines destined for donation or low‑cost sale. Any remaining materials that cannot be reused are responsibly recycled, ensuring nothing goes to waste and every device contributes to the project in some way.
